The Hanhart S–LAB base receiver uses WLAN / Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz) to communicate with the Hanhart S–NET Scientific Cloud. Sub-GHz long-range transmission is used between the S–LAB and the S–Series wireless Sensor Units. The used Wi-Fi module operates within usual 802.11 b/g/n ranges and limitations, while the Sub-GHz offers long-range capabilities up to 150m in line of sight and better signal penetration than Wi-Fi.
